Although our “Standards” state that we don’t do code inspections, a good home inspector has to have a working knowledge of the major building code provisions to ensure that the building and its various components and systems have been installed properly and safely. This course will provide a working knowledge of the major provisions of the 1 & 2 family building codes as they relate to a home inspector. This seminar will be very useful to inspectors by:

1. Increasing their knowledge if the major building codes;
2. Improving their knowledge and skills as a home inspector;
3. Helping them study for state licensure tests (many tests have code related questions);
4. Preparing them to challenge various code certification tests to increase their credibility;
5. Giving them the basic tools to do code contract inspections for smaller municipalities;
6. Covering building, mechanical, electrical and plumbing provisions of the 1 & 2 family code.
